How Dooo Name is neil , reside in the north west and been into the scene for 18 years to date , first got my taste of the music through listening to stu allan on key 103 at the tender age of 11 :D The music was an instant hit with me and wanted to know more about it , was too young at the time to get out there so i had to make do with the radio , tapes & flyers i collected when i was in bolton or manchester on a saturday . I reached 15 and went to my first night out which was rewind at maximes in 1994 , i went to maximes for a short while then was told about the life night at bowlers , this is where it grabbed me proper , i loved it . When i turned 17 i bought my self some technics 1210's and a basic numark mixer , i also landed my self a part time job at beat street records in bolton . After a year of mixing at home i decided to take a tape into bowlers , a week later i got a call from matt piper telling me i would play in october of 1997 , i played once more for life then it closed ;( . Rick jones opened up a night there (complusion/seduction/ressurection of house) i played for these nights twice , in 1998 and 1999 i also played at monroes (blackburn) for pete daley . Then i lost interest in the scene and did nothing till 2004 where after a bit of a shite time i needed to re find my self , so got my self the internet and found www.oldskoolanthemz.com , where i met a whole load of new friends bang into the oldskool scene , since then i have held 4 rescidences and played at quite a few of the oldskool nights across the north west . Also ran my own night luv 2 luv (which i have nothing to do with anymore) And currently run a night called in my house alongside tracy & woody Me and the missus (tracy) run a internet radio on www.oldskoolanthemz.com where we have a whole load of djs playing for us - john j / tony ross / noggy / to name a few of the legends plus a load of osa djs all playing live every day usually from 4pm onwards As for todays music i like the electronic side of things ie: techno / electro Residences * Club Classique - Oldham * Back 2 Front - Fleetwood - Manchester * Goodtimes - Wakefield * Luv2Luv - Chorley - Wigan * In My House - Manchester Guest Spots = * Life @ Bowlers - Manchester * The Resurrection Of House @ Bowlers - Manchester * Complusion / Seduction @ Bowlers - Manchester * Monroes - Blackburn * Ride On Time - Chorley * Timeless - Club Ohm - Manchester * Timeless - Denvers - Manchester * Timeless - Pheonix - Manchester * Not Forgotten - Manchester * Goodtimes - Huddersfield * Goodtimes - Leeds * Metropolis - Manchester * Revive - Manchester |
